“Jeoffrey?” Amy muttered pleadingly from the balcony, adjusting her bikini strap. “Could you refill my mojito?”
Jeoffrey, one of Matt’s oldest friends, a key member of the company’s board of directors, and now his/her lover, chuckled as he took champagne from the ice bucket. “I still can’t believe you convinced George to send us to the Maldives for a ‘strategic business trip’” he said, handing her a glass. “Meanwhile, the company is preparing to announce its third-quarter results. Are you sure we shouldn’t be…worried?”

Amy took a long, delicious sip, her eyes half-closed, gazing at the horizon. “What are you worried about, honey lovey? The stock price? If George does his job well, it’ll be fine. He’s also naive and will believe any nonsense I tell him.” She winked.  "Besides, I already told him to push for the acquisition of that tech startup of Sterling Corp. There's potential there, and honestly, their CEO, Liam, is quite hot."

Jeoffrey almost choked on his drink. "You recommended it because the CEO is hot?"

"Among other things!" Amy giggled, stretching lazily. "Now, about that new line of designer bikinis I saw at the boutique... I think they'd look absolutely 'divinely/admirably' on me, don't you?"

Jeoffrey just shook his head, a resigned smile plastered on his face. He knew perfectly well who was really in charge—and it wasn't George. It was a woman who was currently more interested in bikini than the balance sheet. But then again, the company had never been more profitable.  "But Matt, I mean Amy, if the quarterly reports aren't good, then..."

Suddenly frowning, Amy replied, "Blah, blah, blah. NO. Life's definitely too short for spreadsheets, I'm on vacation now," and she returned to her cheerful mood.
