It was year 1986. Due to a short circuit in his latest invention, which was supposed to be used for reading dreams, a divorced 50-year-old genius Delbert Burns, swapped bodies with his not very smart daughter, Lillian Burns. Worse, the accident left their intelligences in their bodies. Delbert remembered creating the invention, but he completely misunderstood what it was and couldn't explain it to his daughter, who now understood it in his body. So Lillian suggested that she read the notes and diagrams and try to figure it out while he rested. Bored, Delbert, who always had trouble paying attention even in his old body, decided to read his daughter's magazines , listen to her music and chatting with her friends and boyfriends.
A month later, his newfound knowledge had completely absorbed him. He spent his days listening to music, quietly sneaking out with his daughter's friends behind Lillian's back, and enjoying his youth. However, he hoped his daughter would find something, afterall he didn't want to rob her of her youth.
Meanwhile, Lillian carefully analyzed her father's notes and diagrams, read all the scientific knowledge available at home, and understood the problem with her father's invention. At the same time, she analyzed other projects her father had never completed and finished them. Perhaps it was because she had been stupid before, but she managed to maintain her attention much better than her father and was able to finish things he couldn't. At the same time, she had many more ideas in mind, some of which would bring them respect and fortune, but to do so, she had to stay in her father's body. And she saw no problem with that. Great wisdom for the loss of 30 years of life was no great loss. Let her father enjoy the carefree life he deserved while she, or rather, he, improved the world.

The year was 2026, and Lillian, along with her children and grandchildren, celebrated Delbert's 90th birthday. Thanks to his inventions, their family became wealthy and respected. Lillian remembered some of these inventions when he thought about them himself, but he couldn't understand how they worked, plus his daughter/father had long ago transcended patterns she know back then. She was especially grateful for their currently private family invention, which slowed aging, so her old body lived longer. At the same time, she continued to try to convince the old Lillian to return; she didn't want her to die old.
However, she refused every time, unwilling to part with her intellect and the respect he had earned. She also said that old Delbert had completely taken over her life. He had a successful modeling career, eight illegitimate children (there would have been more, but old Lillian found good contraception), and she was a good mother to each of them, whereas old Lillian wouldn't have been able to. When she gained intelligence, she focused primarily on her career, which resulted in hundreds of scientific awards and major advances in technology. Although she still tried to play the role of a good parent to her former father and grandfather to her grandchildren, she wasn't the best at it. And although she loved the father/daughter, she knew that the one with low intellect and scatterbrain wasn't suited to running a business, so he left it to his grandson, and told him to take care of his mother if necessary.
