James was friends with Elizabeth, despite that they stood at different ends of school social status, she at the top and he at the bottom. To compensate this, he came up with a cruel idea. On the first day of summer vacation, he invited her to camp in the woods, after fire was made, he began to cast a spell that absorbed Elizabeth's beauty and sex, leaving her as an average-looking man, and also changed reality so that beside them, no one would notice the difference, thinking that Jaimie had always been a woman and Ellis had always been a guy. After spell was finish Jaimie told the new man that he/she hoped they would be friends after all, then cast a sleep spell on new male.

Jaimie spent the rest of the summer adjusting to her new gender. And although it was difficult at first, she managed to get used to it over time. She even managed to make contact with her new friends in this reality, and in the case of Kate, who would not even look at him when he was a man, a relationship, by the end of the summer they were already a couple. In Ellis's case, well they didn't interact with each other all summer, so she was surprised when on the first day of school, she saw him holding hands with Mandy, a geeky girl from one of the clubs she used to go to in her old life, especially suprise her because spell didn't change sexuality. Seeing her, Ellis came over and thanked her for the spell, he'd always felt a great deal of pressure and stress to be popular which now gone, and the he'd discovered an interest in girls he'd always hidden from himself as a woman, but now he didn't have to. He also said that he hoped they would still be friends after all, to which Jaimie agreed.
